Evergreen offers recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) resin in pellet form. Pellet is available with a Non-Objection Letter (NOL). All rPET is produced to the customer’s specifications. Available rPET resins include:

rPET pellet is packed in super sacks or large corrugated boxes with polyethylene liners and labeled to assure a safe, secure delivery. Some products are available via bulk container transportation.

Quality Assurance
Quality assurance is an Evergreen priority. We build quality controls into every step, including:
rPET flake is tested for contaminants such as wood, paper, polypropylene, glass, metal, and other material to determine PPM of contamination.
Automated testing is used to determine PPM of low melting polymers, PVC, and barrier resins such as nylon that are commonly used in some packaging.
Pellet products are checked for physical properties such as intrinsic viscosity and color. A Certificate of Analysis is available to customers.
Every super sack and corrugated box receives an ID number for traceability.
Each super sack and corrugated box is sampled and tested before shipment.
Circular Economy
Sort/Grind
- Recycled PET bales received from MRFs/brokers sent through bale breaking system
- Proprietary steam tunnel system for glued label removal, de-clumping, and optimal bottle presentation to optical sorters
- Combination of positive/negative sort process: improved quality while maximizing yield
- Materials are ground into small flakes and sent to wash line(s)
Wash
- Dirty flake coming off sort line(s) sent through in-house configured OEM wash equipment
- Excellent small particle removal enabled by adapting alternative technologies to wash processes
- Density separation, centrifuging and quality testing is performed
- Washed/clean flake is weighed and sent to extrusion
Pelletize/SSP
- Clean flake is extruded, filtered to eliminate volatile contaminants and sent to SSPs for polymer cleaning and IV enhancement
- SSPs represent the premier recycling technology to achieve product output that meets or exceedsa today's specs required bnyu CPG customers and teh FDA
- Decontaminated pellets are bagged and quality testing is performed prior to shipment

Evergreen produces large volumes of Non-Objection Letter (NOL) rPET pellet for direct food contact in these categories specified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- High-temperature heat sterilized over 212° F
- Boiling water sterilized
- Hot filled or pasteurized above 150° F
- Hot filled or pasteurized below 150° F
- Room temperature filled and stored (no thermal treatment in the container)
- Refrigerated storage (no thermal treatment in the container)
- Frozen storage (no thermal treatment in the container)
- Frozen or refrigerated storage (Ready prepared foods intended to be reheated in the container at time of use)
- Aqueous or oil-in-water emulsion of high- or low-fat
- Aqueous, high- or low-free oil or fat
- Cooking at temperatures exceeding 250° F
